TOMS RIVER -- At least 500 Jersey Central Power & Light customers were without electricity in the township late Saturday, according to the company.
Additional utility crews were called to help make repairs, the company's outage website reported. Between 501 and 1500 customers lost service.
Power was expected to be restored by 10:30 p.m., JCP&L said.
The outage was caused by unspecified equipment damage, according to the company.
