Victim suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation
BARNEGAT -- An 82-year-old man was hospitalized following a fire at a Windward Drive home Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Police responded at 4:39 p.m. to the home, where Benjamin Morrow suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation. He was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center.
One home on the street suffered major damage and two neighboring homes sustained minor damage, police also said. An investigation was being carried out by the Ocean County Fire Marshall and local police.
The Barnegat, Stafford and Forked River volunteer fire departments all responded to the scene.
