Lawrence Fascia, 63, was arrested after a search of his Drake Road home revealed thousands of graphic images of children engaged in sex acts with adults, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

He was initially held on $25,000 bail, but for health reasons was released to home confinement with a monitoring bracelet, authorities said. According to his Megan's Law registry profile, Fascia is 5-foot-7, 410 pounds.

Fascia was charged Tuesday with second-degree child pornography and third-degree possession of child pornography. While on home confinement, Fascia is barred from using electronic devices and having contact with minors, the prosecutor's office said.

The FBI received the initial tip about Fascia's child pornography trading several months ago and referred it to the prosecutor's office, authorities said.

Fascia, formerly of Stanhope, was convicted in May 2003 of child endangerment and promoting the prostitution of a child in Sussex County, the Star-Ledger reported at the time. He also pleaded guilty to soliciting a third party, younger than 18, to arrange sex for him with a child, authorities said

Fascia was sentenced to seven years in prison for crimes that took place in Stanhope between Aug. 29, 2001 and Dec. 5, 2001.

At the time Fascia worked as a substitute teacher in middle schools and high schools in Hopatcong, Mount Olive, Montville, Randolph and Roxbury and also was employed as an on-call school bus driver.
