Police say Gary Fox, 30, of Toms River, had more than $25,000 worth of heroin in his storage unit when he was arrested.
TOMS RIVER - A 30-year-old township man was arrested on drug distribution charges on Thursday, just two months after he was jailed for possessing more than 83 bricks of heroin.
In May, a month-long investigation by members of the Toms River Police Department's Special Enforcement Team into the distribution of heroin resulted in the arrest of Gary Fox, 30, of Toms River, police said.
The arrest led to the seizure of 80 wax folds of heroin and $740 in U.S. currency.
A subsequent search of a storage unit belonging to Fox led to the seizure of an additional 83 bricks of heroin, which Toms River Police Department spokesman Ralph Stocco said in a release Tuesday was approximately 4,150 individual doses with a street value of approximately $25,000.
Fox was charged with distributing heroin, possession of heroin and possession of over one half ounce of heroin. His bail was set at $75,000 with no 10-percent option, which Stocco said he eventually posted pending his court appearance.
In July, the Special Enforcement Team launched a separate investigation into Fox's' continued heroin distribution.
On Thursday, that investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at Fox's residence on Old Street, which led to the seizure of approximately 540 wax folds of heroin, more than a pound and a half of marijuana, $1,984 in U.S. currency, prescription medications, a scale and packaging materials used to distribute narcotics, police said.
Fox was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of Alprazolam, possession of Suboxone, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was lodged in the Ocean County Jail on $60,000 bail with no 10-percent option.
