Sayreville H.S. Marching Band celebrates back-to-back wins (PHOTOS)

The band came home to a police escort through town and back to the school where they were greeted to a mob of cheering parents and dignitaries including Mayor Kennedy O'Brien and Councilman Arthur Rittenhouse.

SAYREVILLE -- The Sayreville War Memorial High School Marching Band pulled off a weekend of back-to-back wins on Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 25.

On Saturday, they traveled to Toms River High School North to compete in the Tournament of Bands NJ State Championships and took First Place in Group 3A.

On Sunday, they headed north to Union to compete in the Tournament of Bands NY Metropolitan Group 10 Championships and took First Place in Group 3A against 4 other bands in their group.

Both days the band came home to a police escort through town and back to the school where they were greeted to a mob of cheering parents and dignitaries including Mayor Kennedy O'Brien and Councilman Arthur Rittenhouse.
