A driver and passenger suffered serious injuries and were taken to an area hospital.
EAGLESWOOD -- Two people were hospitalized Sunday night after a sport utility vehicle overturned on the side of the Garden State Parkway, police said.
A Jeep Liberty was heading southbound on the Parkway when the driver lost control around milepost 60.7 in Eagleswood shortly before 11 p.m. and ran off the right side of the highway, Sgt. Jeff Flynn, a New Jersey State Police spokesman, said.
The SUV went down an embankment on the side of the road and overturned, Flynn said.

The lanes on the Parkway were closed for approximately four hours as detectives investigated the crash.
No charges were immediately filed against the driver, though that can change once the investigation is complete, Flynn said.
What caused the driver to lose control is part of the ongoing investigation, Flynn said.
