Firefighter injured battling Howell Township blaze

A firefighter was hospitalized Tuesday night after being injured while battling a fire that damaged a Howell Township home.

HOWELL - One firefighter was injured battling a fire that damaged a township home on Tuesday night.

The fire broke out in a Potomac Court home at around 8 p.m. and emergency personnel from Howell Township, Farmingdale, Jackson and NWS Earle responded, police said.

Firefighters from the Adelphia Fire Company were able to initially suppress the fire and prevent the home from being destroyed, police said.

All of the home's residents made it out safely, but one firefighter was injured battling the blaze and was transported to an area hospital, though police said he is expected to be ok.

First aid personnel from Howell and Farmingdale, as well as the Howell Office of Emergency Management, provided support at the scene.
