Fritzley Francois TOMS RIVER -- A Lakewood man has been indicted on charges he tried to kill a disc jockey who was robbed while waiting to get paid.
A grand jury in Ocean County charged Fritzley Francois on Wednesday with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and armed robbery.
Francois, 30, is accused of being one of two men who approached a 23-year-old DJ from Maryland on Nov. 24 after an event in Howell.
Authorities said at the time that the victim reported he was instructed to go to the High Point condominium complex shortly after midnight to get paid.
While he and a 23-year-old woman were waiting in the car outside the complex, two men approached them, opened the door and demanded their belongings, authorities said at the time.
When the DJ refused, one of the men shot him in the abdomen, police have said.
Francois was arrested in connection with the holdup of two men in Lakewood on Nov. 29 and he is also the suspect in a Nov. 23 armed robbery of another Lakewood man.
