Winners were named in four categories at the sand castle building contest in Brigantine.

BRIGANTINE -- Approximately 100 people participated in the 8th Annual Ashore Realty Amateur Sand Castle Building Contest here Saturday.

The sand sculpture that caught the most attention was Sylvester and Tweety Bird (alongside Ironman), by The Bikini Boys, the same group of guys that built the sand sculpture of Gov. Chris Christie sitting on the beach. The group also won the 31st Annual New Jersey Sandcastle Contest in Belmar with their Etch-a-Dragon, a massive sculpture of a dragon emerging from an Etch-a-Sketch toy.

Other top sand creations included ants invading a summertime picnic, a miniature golf course, and a summer celebration of Christmas.

The event also featured a hula hooping contest, a visit from Briggy the Fox, a bubble area for kids, and an Alex's Lemonade Stand.
