Austin Siler was back in New Jersey to attend the funeral of a youth football coach

BRICK -- A 19-year-old who used to live in Brick died Friday hours after being rushed to a hospital from a house party in his former hometown.

Austin Siler, of Kettering, Ohio died at Ocean Medical Center in Brick at 8:21 a.m, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement Tuesday. No criminal activity is suspected, authorities said.

Siler, an Ohio native who lived in Brick for nine years before moving back there in high school, was back in town last week to attend the funeral of a youth football coach, according to a local Patch site.

He went to dinner with friends before arriving at a party at midnight, his mother, Jenny Siler, told Patch.

By 3 a.m. her son was intoxicated and vomiting, according to an account relayed to his mother by Austin Siler's friends. The teen's friends drove him to the hospital around 8 a.m., the report said

Siler planned to pursue a career in law enforcement and was scheduled to leave for the police academy in two weeks, his mother told Patch.

Toxicology tests to determine how Siler died will be conducted, the prosecutor's office said.

A GoFundMe.com page established by a family friend to help cover Siler's funeral expenses has raised $7,245 of its $10,000 goal as of 7:55 a.m. Wednesday.
