BERKELEY TOWNSHIP -- A 46-year-old Lacey woman was arrested Tuesday after authorities found her in possession of heroin and crack cocaine in a retirement community, police said.
Veronica Gasman, 46, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute.
Gasman was arrested after authorities responded to Grenada Street in the Holiday City retirement community for a narcotics investigation, police said.
During the investigation, detectives with the Berkeley Township Police Department and Ocean County Prosecutor's Office observed a white Ford Explorer arrive in the area.
Detectives pulled over the Explorer and found the driver, Gasman, had heroin on her, police said. Further investigation led authorities to find more than 1,000 heroin packets and 15 vials of crack cocaine, police said.
Gasman, who is from the Lanoka Harbor section of Lacey Township, was taken to the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
