OCEAN GROVE -- With temperatures warming up a bit on Friday, in Ocean Grove even marine wildlife took the time to enjoy the weather.
A seal was found on the beach in Ocean Grove on Friday morning, and after wildlife specialists examined the animal, they declared it fit and healthy, according to Neptune Township police.
The police department tweeted photos of the seal when it was first discovered and noted that the Associated Humane Societies was on the scene to conduct an examination.
More than an hour later, the department sent out another tweet with an update that the Humane Societies declared the seal healthy and just in search of some sun.
For the past few days, temperatures had been in the 20s, but the windchill made it feel more like in the teen. On Friday, though, the highs were expected to be 50 in Neptune and other areas of the Jersey Shore.
