LAKEWOOD -- A Lakewood man has been charged with having an ongoing sexual relationship with a minor, authorities said.
Cesar Martinez, 26, was charged Thursday with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child after investigators determined he was having a sexual relationship with a teenage girl over the past two months, said Lakewood Detective Sgt. Gregory Staffordsmith.
Staffordsmith said that police responded to a call on Thursday to a home on East 5th Street about a man's inappropriate relationship with a minor.
An investigation by Officer Nathaniel Reyes revealed the ongoing relationship, he said.
Bail for Martinez, who was being held in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, was set at $150,000.
Also assisting in the investigation was the Ocean County Prosecutors Office and the CSI Unit of the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, he said.
