By Friday evening, most Monmouth and Ocean residents had their power restored.
Power for those Monmouth and Ocean county residents left without electricity after Friday morning's snowstorm was largely restored by the evening.
By 5:05 p.m., Jersey Central Power & Light was reporting only 398 customers statewide without power, with the bulk of those totals in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
That was a big drop from the morning, when the power company reported more than 6,200 of its customers in Monmouth County and another 1,700 in Ocean County were without electricity.
The storm, with its heavy wet flakes, forced the closure of dozens of schools and made roads tricky to navigate as the bulk of the totals fell during morning rush hour.
By the evening, though, JCP&L reported 263 Monmouth residents still without power, mainly in Spring Lake Heights, Long Branch, Red Bank and Freehold.
In Ocean County, the 88 customers without power were primarily in Lakewood.
