The supervillain rebranding follows the renaming of another coaster as The Joker

Starting sometime in late April, Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train will be known as Harley Quinn Crazy Train at Six Flags Great Adventure, park officials say.

Supervillains and superheroes abound at the Jackson park -- the rebranding of the family-friendly steel roller coaster follows a decision to change the name of the park's new "4-D" coaster "Total Mayhem" to "The Joker."

In keeping with the characters' close relationship in the DC Comics universe, Harley Quinn Crazy Train -- the older, formerly pirate-themed ride, whose maximum speed is 22 mph -- is adjacent to The Joker in the park. But the Crazy Train is being cast as a more sedate alternative to The Joker, which will flip riders six times over the course of their high-flying journey.

"As ultimate thrill-seekers flock to our new, jaw-dropping coaster The Joker, family-sized thrills will be right next door with Harley Quinn Crazy Train," said John Fitzgerald, president of Six Flags Great Adventure, in a statement. The rebranding precedes one of this summer's major theatrical releases.

Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and The Joker (Jared Leto) will hit the big screen on August 5 in the much buzzed-about movie "Suicide Squad."
