The busts netted approximately 600 individual doses of heroin, authorities said.
LACEY -- Detectives nabbed four people and seized approximately 600 doses of heroin in two separate drug-dealing investigations, authorities announced Tuesday.
The joint investigations by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Lacey Township Police Department targeted two separate sets of siblings who sold heroin in the Lacey Township area, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and Lacey police Chief Dave Paprota announced in a statement sent to news outlets.
Authorities said the first, month-long investigation, led to the arrests of Ivory L. Lewis, 24, and Tiemear Lewis, 23, both of Trenton.
The two, who are brother and sister, were in the process of transporting heroin from Trenton to Lacey in a white 2015 Dodge Journey when authorities spotted the vehicle in the Lanoka Harbor section of town, authorities said.
Police stopped the vehicle around 2 p.m. on April 1, and found approximately 350 individual doses of heroin and an unspecified amount of marijuana, according to authorities.
Both Ivory and Tiemear Lewis were charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin under one-half ounce with intent to distribute. They were both taken to the Ocean County Jail and bail was set at $40,000 each with no 10-percent option.
Meanwhile, on March 31, detectives executed a search warrant at the residence of Joseph and Casey Sinopoli after a weeklong investigation into the sale of heroin in Lacey Township.
After searching the brother's Clairmore Avenue home, authorities found 250 individual doses of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, authorities said.
Joseph Sinopoli, 23, and Casey Sinopoli, 21, each received charges of possession of heroin and possession of heroin under one-half ounce with the intent to distribute. They were both processed at the Lacey Township police department and released on their own recognizance.
