An 11-year-old girl reported the assaults to her teacher, authorities said.
LAKEWOOD -- A 41-year-old Lakewood man was arrested Tuesday after a young girl told her teacher he had sexually assaulted her several times, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.
Antonio Aguilar has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The attacks on the 11-year-old girl were allegedly carried out over the a number of years, authorities said.
Lakewood Police Department Det. Steve Kelusak and Officer Eduardo Vega carried out the investigation and arrest with Det. Stephanie Bayha of the prosecutor's Special Victim's Unit, Juan Barrera of the Division of Child Protection and Det. Mike Senger and Sgt. Jason Steele of the Ocean County Sheriff's Department and the prosecutor's office, respectively.
Aguilar was being held on $250,000 bail in the Ocean County Jail and is barred from contact with the girl.
