BRICK -- A township man was arrested Sunday after police say he assaulted a man inside his residence on Sawmill Road.

The alleged assault came after a dispute between two men shortly before 10 p.m. on the 100 block of Sawmill Road, Sgt. Neal Pedersen, public information officer for Brick police, said in a statement.

After the dispute turned physical, the victim, only identified as a 24-year-old man, left and went to his nearby home, Pedersen said.

He said Kayvon Tinnery, 23, of Brick, followed the victim to his house, and assaulted him inside of it. The victim eventually fled the home. He refused medical attention, Pedersen said.

Tinnery was arrested after police found him in the area, Pedersen said. He was charged with burglary, terroristic threats and simple assault.

Tinnery was taken to the Ocean County Jail and bail was set at $35,000 with no 10-percent option.
