Parts of southeastern Pennsylvania are covered by the watch as well.
The forecast calls for storms dumping as much as two inches an hour and torrential rains. The National Weather Service is also advising the public to keep an eye on subsequent forecasts as conditions may change over the next several hours, the agency said Wednesday night.
Should the intense wet weather materialize, it would be the second major rainstorm in less than a week. On Monday, a line of thunderstorms brought high winds and lightning to several parts of New Jersey.
