Authorities say Jimenez-Villanueva, 30, and Anaya-Morales, 57, got into an argument while they were both on Monmouth Avenue in Lakewood around 6 p.m. During the fight, Jimenez-Villanueva hit Anaya-Morales and knocked him to the ground, Della Fave said.

A concerned citizen found Anaya-Morales lying unconscious in a parking lot at 118 Monmouth Ave., he said. He was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he died the next morning, authorities have said.

An autopsy determined that Anaya-Morales died from massive head injuries, Della Fave said.

Lakewood police and members of the prosecutor's major crimes unit arrested Jimenez-Villanueva on July 16 as he was waiting at Monmouth Avenue and 2nd Street in Lakewood for a ride to work at 8 a.m., Della Fave said.

Jimenez-Villanueva is being held in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River on $750,000.
